India 2011 – Red Fort
(Part of my ongoing India travelogue… if you want to start from the beginning – check out this post: India 2011)
The Red Fort is yet another impressive monument erected by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (Taj Mahal and Jama Masjid) – the fellow certainly got around!
It’s a staggeringly large complex of many different buildings surrounded by a massive red sandstone wall, which is then surrounded by a moat! It’s said that the Red Fort is the culmination of Mughal architecture, and it’s easy to see why. Just take a look at all the different textures, patterns and colours.
Red Fort is incredibly popular with Indian tourists, which meant I got to do more of my favourite people watching.
Was I watching her first, or was she watching me? I can’t tell!
beautiful beautiful beautiful. Its so vibrant and lively. I’d love to visit one day. Its on my top 5 list of countries to visit before I die.
