Kozyndan – Washed Away
So after a very satisfying brunch at Robocog – my friend Zay, Jason and I popped over to one of my all-time favourite galleries, Outré Gallery on Crown St to check out a mini exhibition by one of my all-time favourite artists, Kozyndan!
Kozyndan are a husband/wife duo who collaborate on massively detailed panoramics that are equal parts cute, psychedelic, sinister and sexy. You might also be familiar with their bunny wave take on Hokusai:
Every time they do a new panoramic, I always think it’s my absolute new favourite. I know I thought that about:
Amorous Nudibranchs Paint the Town Red,
Pacific Drift ,
and then Nakano in Spring
And then on Sunday I saw The Best Sushi in Town – too cool.
I caught their Bunny Fish show in Sydney a few years ago, also at Outré Gallery, which featured a giant school of painted wooden Bunny Fish cutouts swimming all over the wall. Too adorable. (btw bakers – check out these Bunny fish cookies the gallery commissioned for the show.)
Like that show, this year’s show is a mix of original work and limited edition prints.
Love the details on this gouache painting
If you want to check them out, the Sydney exhibition runs from 14 May – 5 June 2011
Look out for Outré Gallery’s shiny new sign!

Water & Ocean waves are so beautiful when done in those vibrant colors, and such a cute twist adding the bunnies – thanks for sharing : )
