One of the best things in the world is getting all your friends together to celebrate and eat food. And it doesn’t really matter what you eat, right? Everything tastes better when it’s eaten with good friends around.

But of course… being the glutton I am, I’ll talk about the food anyway.

I know most people have birthday cakes… but thanks to my friend Stevo, I had birthday proscuitto!!

Ok. Maybe that’s a bit weird, but it made me pretty happy!!

Stevo and Lucy also got me cheese! (Best presents ever)

I can’t exactly remember what brand it was, but I think it was Tasmanian Heritage Red Square “Tasmanian Heritage Red Square is a sumptuous traditional washed rind cheese with a mild earthy aroma and a lingering creamy taste.” DELICIOUS!

Of course a BBQ isn’t a BBQ without meat:

My mum gave us a whole heap of green prawns for us to BBQ, and the sausages came from trusty woolies.

I have to give a special shout out to the awesome cous cous that my awesome friend, hereby known as Kitchen Improv Man, concocted for me! I didn’t get to take a photo, to my eternal despair… but the memory of that special dish, and the incredible lengths Kitchen Improv Man went through to create it shall live on forever.

Now for everyone’s favourite part… CAKE PORN:

Ohhh yeah

That’s right. I’m so greedy, I got two. I couldn’t pick!!

We got the tarts from a cake store in Westfield Eastgardens, Pagewood – called Tarte Elysée. They’re made daily at Paris Patisserie in Bondi. I’ve been a big fan of their mini tartes for a long time, and it’s always been a dream to buy a big one. And now I had two!!

Tarte Elysée’s eponymous tart – Tart with chocolate ganache, baked chocolate, pieces of nougat, vanilla profiteroles and white chocolate waves(!!!)

Good thing I did, because they were pretty much gone in minutes.
